Applications
AMPCOLOY® 944 has a wide range of applications in various industries where a combination of excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, high mechanical properties, and safety compliance is essential. It is commonly used in electrode holders and seam welding shafts for use in spot welding electrodes, seam welding discs and projection, and butt welding dies, particularly for stainless steel and Monel®. This versatile alloy is also used for plunger tips in cold-chamber aluminum high-pressure die casting machines and molds for low-pressure die casting machines. It also plays a critical role in chill molds for casting brass, certain bronzes, and in various parts of plastic injection molds, including injection nozzles and cooling pins.
