Properties and Specifications
AMPCOLOY® 95, which shares some similarities with AMPCOLOY® 91, is a remarkable alloy known for its exceptional properties and specifications. Forged and extruded to achieve optimum physical properties, this alloy offers excellent machinability combined with remarkable wear and corrosion resistance. Designed with high mechanical properties, this high copper alloy excels in applications requiring superior thermal conductivity, longer cycle times, and longer tool life, often outperforming copper-titanium by up to 50%. This alloy’s unmatched combination of strength and toughness makes it a top choice for spot welding electrodes, electrode holders, mesh welding, and more. In addition, users should exercise caution due to the 0.5% beryllium content, ensuring safety during any operation that may generate dust or fumes.
Applications
AMPCOLOY® 95 finds a wide range of applications thanks to its exceptional properties. Primarily used for spot welding electrodes and electrode holders, it excels in demanding welding applications. It’s also the material of choice for mesh welding, seam welding discs for stainless steel, Monel®, nickel alloys, and flash welding dies. Its excellent thermal conductivity makes it invaluable in plunger tips for aluminum die casting machines. It also plays a key role in plastic injection molding where high thermal conductivity is desired.
